2. Aurora Borealis, Arctic Circle

Aurora Borealis, commonly known as the Northern Lights, is a phenomenon that creates ribbons of light that dance across the sky. Seen mostly in the Arctic Circle, it is known for its beauty and spectacular display. Read more
3. Grand Canyon, USA

The canyon, carved by the Colorado River is 1 mile (1.6 km) deep and 277 river miles long (433km). Due to the arid environment, the gorge walls are completely exposed putting 2 billion years of the earths history on display. It is this size and the display of colours that make it truly spectacular. Read more
4. Great Barrier Reef, Australia

The Great Barrier Reef is a chain of 3000 individual coral reefs and 900 islands extending over 2600 km up the coast of north-eastern Australia, extending just south of Papua New Guinea. The marine park is 344 400 km2, which is roughly the size of Japan! Read more
5. Iguazu Falls, Argentina/Brazil

Named by the Guarani Indians, Iguazu means “big water”. Depending on the season they are made up of 275 subsidiary waterfalls along 1.67 miles (2.7 kms) of the Iguazu River. The largest, Devil’s Throat (Garganta del Diablo), is 82m high, which is the same as a 24 story building! Read more
6. Mount Everest, Nepal

The tip of Mount Everest is the highest point on earth. Standing 8848m or just under 9km above sea level, it is 237m taller than the next mountain. It resides in the Himalayan ranges and is around 60 million years old. Read more

The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest on earth. The essential features of climate, vegetation and fauna have barely changed in the past million years. The Park is most famous for its migration. Nearly one million wildebeest and 200,000 zebras move from the northern hills to the south every October and November during the short rains. Read More
