A little more on Victoria Falls
Located across the Zambia and Zimbabwe border, Mosi-oa-Tunya, or more commonly, Victoria Falls is a spectacular sight. The massive waterfall has the largest sheet of falling water in the world. Measuring 1.7 kms across and falling 100m into the Zambezi gorge, the falls can be heard from 40km away. Its spray rises to over 400m, and visible from 60km away. During it’s peak season 550 gallons of water fall every second.
The falls have a number of pathways on both sides of the border, both well worth seeing as they provide different vantage points. The falls are also home to a number of adrenaline sports, white water rafting and bungee jumping.
